In Rock 101, students at the New York City School of Rock will master the basics while playing actual rock music, before jumping into live shows. Kids get a private, one on one lesson and experience playing with other kids in a band setting.

Our Rock 101 music program includes:

  • Learning the basics of technique and music theory
  • Understanding the dynamic of playing in a group
  • A weekly, 30 or 45 minute, private music lesson - guitar, bass guitar, keyboard, drums, and / or vocals
  • A weekly 1-1/2 hour, group rehearsal
